This week I've been reflecting on the job market and job hunting, which is not for the faint of heart. Every single person I've talked to on the job search across community, operations, design and product are struggling to get an interview even with network referrals, tailored resumes and a vast amount of knowledge and experience. I don't have an easy answer because I'm in the same boat. What I do know is that we all succeed by uplifting each other.
If you're job hunting, you're not alone! Hit reply and let me know how I can help.
If you're not job hunting, support those who are by:
- speaking their name in rooms they aren't in
- sharing a recommendation on LinkedIn. A huge THANK YOU to Rosie Sherry for doing that this week 🙌
- sending along jobs that might fit
- reaching out to your own network to see who might need their skillset
In the meantime I am noodling starting a weekly virtual career fair. I have no idea how to go about setting this up so hit reply if you've got ideas to share!
This is your weekly reminder that working 24/7 isn't healthy or sustainable!- @saranosocks |

Take a pottery classIf pottery isn't your thing find something that uses your hands and doesn't involve anything digital. Painting, knitting, baking bread, sewing, etc. You'd be amazed at what happens when you are making something with your hands. |
Here's a resource for you...Each week I'll include a new resource to check out. Books, podcasts, tools, courses, communities, YouTube and more! |
Teal is for all you job hunters out there. In fact, I would recommend giving it a try even if you aren't job hunting right now. Their resume builder has been very helpful in crafting an ATS friendly resume! Have a great resource you're using that you want to recommend?

I've found a lot of creative small business owners tend to just want to focus on their creative side when it comes to business, not the behind the scenes that makes everything come together. If you're ready to make your workflows easier, documentation cleaner, and projects run smoother, I'm ready to help

After having to answer the same question over and over again on why I am looking to move into a full -time role right now, I revised an old blog post as my answer and shared it on Medium. TL;DR being solo just isn't for me in a lot of ways. This was a very vulnerable share for me, more transparent that I have been for the last two years, but helped lift a bit of the heaviness weighing me down I didn' t even realize was there. I'll be sharing more about my solo journey over the last three...
Connection, online and off, has been my theme this week. Being an introvert it's easy for me to get in a pattern of just hiding away but after a soild 6 months of slowly going into my 'cave', this week I was back out in full force. Video calls with friends from around the globe, in person meetups with friends, and general connection on the socials has brought a renewed sense of energy and alignment. I'm embracing my discomfort and stepping out of my introverted bubble to do the hard things as...
I've been reflecting this month on asking for help, specifically on how much I struggle with it. As much as I thrive on helping others, I have a terrible time asking for help myself. Over the years I've always let my own self doubt, anxiety and impostor syndrome stop me from asking anyone for help. This of course has carried over into my business and been a huge hinderance to consistency, growth and overall success. It's something I'm working on and don't have any quick and fast answers too...
